AGC Hosts AICTE Sponsored National Seminar on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

 Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Amritsar Group of Colleges (AGC) successfully organized a two-day national seminar on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) under the auspices of the AICTE VAANI scheme, held on August 8-9.

The seminar commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. Sandeep Kad, Head of the CSE Department and seminar coordinator. He underscored the pivotal role that AI and ML play in shaping the future of technology, emphasizing their vast potential to drive transformative advancements across diverse sectors.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Gaurav Tejpal, Principal AGC, highlighted the significance of such seminars in cultivating a culture of innovation and lifelong learning. Dr. Tejpal also expressed heartfelt gratitude to AICTE for their support under the VAANI scheme and commended the CSE Department’s efforts in securing this prestigious grant, awarded to only 100 institutions nationwide. Dr. Rajneesh Arora, Managing Director AGC, shed light on the importance of promoting and integrating Indian languages within technical education, thereby fostering a more inclusive and accessible learning environment.

The seminar attracted enthusiastic participation from faculty members, research scholars, students, and industry professionals. Esteemed speakers, including Prof. (Dr.) Gurpreet Singh Lehal, Dr. Sarbjeet Singh, Dr. Parminder Singh, Dr. Amritpal Singh, Dr. Akashdeep, and Mr. Ravi Parkash Gupta, shared their expertise on the latest advancements in AI technologies, practical applications, and the ethical considerations surrounding AI and ML deployment.

Advocate Shri Amit Sharma, Chairman of AGC, stressed the importance of hosting such seminars to bridge the gap between academic research and industry practices, reinforcing AGC’s commitment to academic excellence.

The Chief Guest, Madam Ragini Sharma, Director Finance, Dr. Gaurav Tejpal, Principal AGC, Madam Sunita Sharda Ji, Dr. Neha Tejpal, Madam Priyanka Goyal, and Dr. Manmeet Makan  graced the occasion and expressed their appreciation for the efforts put into organizing this event.
